Choosing the right laminate for a staircase
Not every laminate plank belongs on stairs. We only recommend AC4 (heavy residential) or AC5 (commercial-grade) products for a staircase, since anything lighter shows wear at the nosing within a year or two. We also lean toward thicker boards where possible, since they feel more solid underfoot and accept a matching nosing more cleanly.
