Clark County's go-to floor for rain, mud, and everyday life

Luxury vinyl plank is the best-selling flooring category in the country right now, and in a climate like ours it's easy to see why. It's 100% waterproof, scratch-resistant, and stands up to wet shoes, muddy paws, and the humidity swings that come with a long Pacific Northwest rainy season - all while looking convincingly like real hardwood.

Vancouver Flooring Co. is a small, owner-run showroom near the Home Depot in Vancouver. We buy directly from manufacturers, including Shaw Floors, so our pricing reflects real manufacturer relationships rather than a big-box markup - and Bill personally walks most customers through their options at no cost and with no pressure to upgrade.

How to choose the right LVP for your home

Three specs tell you almost everything about a plank: wear layer thickness, core construction, and overall thickness. We walk through what each one means for your specific household during your in-home consultation, not with a generic brochure.

  • Wear layer 12-20 mil - lighter residential traffic, guest rooms and low-use spaces
  • Wear layer 22 mil - our default recommendation for most whole-home projects
  • Wear layer 28-30 mil - large dogs, high-traffic families, near-commercial durability
  • SPC core (rigid mineral-composite construction) - won't telegraph small subfloor imperfections
  • WPC core (wood-polymer composite) - softer, slightly warmer feel underfoot

Click-lock vs. glue-down - which fits your project

Click-lock LVP floats over the subfloor, installs faster, and is easy to spot-repair if a plank is ever damaged. Glue-down LVP feels more solid and stays quieter underfoot, and it's the better call for large open floor plans or spaces that see near-constant foot traffic. We'll recommend the right method for your subfloor and layout, and our crew installs both - as well as [square-format vinyl](/vinyl-floor-tiles) and [sheet vinyl](/sheet-vinyl-flooring) if a different format suits the room better.

Professional installation, start to finish

A great LVP install lives or dies on the subfloor. We level every dip and low spot, use manufacturer-required underlayment, and handle baseboard removal and reinstall as part of the same visit. Need [stairs](/vinyl-flooring-stairs) to match? We mill custom nosings to blend the staircase into the room seamlessly.

Every quote from your [free in-home estimate](/free-estimate) includes removal and disposal of your existing floor, and we offer a 12-month, zero-interest [financing plan](/financing) so a whole-home project doesn't have to happen all in one paycheck. Comparing LVP against [hardwood](/hardwood-flooring) or [carpet](/carpet-flooring) for a specific room? Ask us honestly during the estimate - we'll tell you when another material actually fits your space better.

Luxury Vinyl Plank - frequently asked questions

Yes - LVP is one of the best options for spaces like that. It's fully waterproof, handles concrete subfloors without acclimation concerns, and feels far warmer underfoot than a hard-surface alternative, which matters in a below-grade room.

The wear layer resists scratching well, but it isn't indestructible. Dog claws and furniture dragged across cheaper, thin-wear-layer LVP can scuff it. We recommend a 20+ mil wear layer for households with larger dogs.

Quality LVP with a 22+ mil wear layer typically lasts 20-25 years in a home, and because it's fully waterproof, our rainy, humid stretches don't shorten that lifespan the way they can with wood flooring.

We're a small, owner-run showroom - not a franchise. Bill measures and quotes most jobs personally, and because we're local, the person who sold you the floor is the same person you'd call if you ever had a question after installation.
